Overview

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Europe class along with the Entrepreneurship Practicum teaches tools and skills required to succeed as an entrepreneur — and lets students apply these tools in a real-life project.

Students are placed at a Danish start-up and experience first-hand what issues young companies are struggling with in getting their products and services to market. This practicum focuses both on the specific challenges faced by the assigned start-up and its competitors in their respective spaces, but also very much on students own personal journey into the entrepreneurial lifestyle.

This program fulfills the Capstone Course/Experience for students in the the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program.

Excursions

This program includes site visits and cultural activities in and around Copenhagen as well as a week-long study tour of Stockholm.

Housing

Your housing is a key part of your study abroad. As a DIS summer student, you’ll live in well-located, community-focused housing designed to foster independence and cultural immersion, helping you make the most of your time abroad. DIS housing is spread across various neighborhoods and suburbs, giving you an authentic local experience as you make the city your home.

Most students will share a room with fellow DIS students enrolled in the same summer session, arriving and departing together. In some residences, you might also have local students as flatmates, adding a unique cultural dimension to your experience.

Part of living and studying in Scandinavia means commuting by bike, bus, train, or metro, as the locals do. Whether traveling to and from classes at DIS, the practicum, study tour departures, or other activities, students can expect that commuting will be a part of your daily life.
