Overview
Buenos Aires is not only a major cultural center, it’s also one of Latin America’s most important economic hubs. Whether students are drawn by social justice, community development, politics, business, or the arts, IFSA will find an eight-week experience that aligns with their goals and helps their resume stand out.
IFSA internships include real-world work experience, along with developing intercultural skills and experiences that are key to personal, academic, and professional success. During the placement process, each students goals are carefully considered, tailoring the placement to ensure the best possible fit. Keep in mind that final placements depend on a student's skills and prior experience, as well as the availability of applicable placements. Although every effort is made to match a placement with the student's preferred field or area, it can’t be guaranteed.

In addition, students select one additional, 3-credit academic course. Available courses tend to be Spanish, literature, political science, or psychology.
Past IFSA students have interned at galleries and museums, business incubators, development agencies, religiously affiliated non-profits, marketing firms, and human rights advocacy groups in Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires students can opt for a homestay with a local family or, for an additional fee, to live in city apartments. The apartments and homestays are located in safe neighborhoods, such as Recoleta, Palermo, Belgrano, Villa Crespo, Almagro, and Caballito, with easy access to public transportation.
Two meals per day are included in the homestay.
Estimated Program Costs
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location. This will vary by program. The Program and Housing Fees include: tuition for two classes, internship placement and oversight, housing, activities and excursions, and most meals (homestay only).
