Grenoble Institute of Technology

  • one of 250 Grandes Écoles, French institutions of higher education specializing in one or two fields
  • offers programs in engineering with research centers for nanotechnologies, energy distribution and renewable energy
  • highly selective and small student body, approximately 5000 full-time students

  • significant research and development activities

Location: Grenoble, a city of 420,000, offers its inhabitants numerous museums, theatres, libraries and cinemas as well as incomparable sporting possibilities. Ski, snowboard, hiking, mountain-climbing and hang-gliding facilities are located within a half-hour's drive of the city, and the area's many lakes allow for popular water sports. Grenoble is a European crossroads located just two hours from Switzerland and Italy, and three hours from the Mediterranean.

Eligibility

Grenoble Institute of Technology is open to engineering majors. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity and a desire to experience another culture.

GPA Requirement: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Language Requirement: 4 Sem French

If students complete courses while abroad from Purdue colleges that have not approved the program, they might be able to earn transfer credit for those courses. Housing

Students can be housed in halls of residence or in private accommodations. Requests for housing must be submitted as early as possible after acceptance, but no later than 15 May for the fall semester and 15 November for the spring semester.
