Program Description
Earn 6 hours of course credit while living in picturesque Strasbourg, France. Deepen your understanding of international relations and democratic theory in the historically significant Alsace region. Visit a WWII-era fort on the famous Maginot Line. Learn about democratic challenges facing the European Union while visiting the EU Parliament. Enjoy daily croissants in this walkable city and visit the nearby Route des Vins, France’s oldest wine trail. The literal crossroads of Europe, Strasbourg is perfectly positioned for exploration during your 3-day weekends. Two hours by train to Paris, Frankfurt, Basel, and more!

Academic Credit
POL 352: Democracy and its Critics (3 credit hours)
POL 232: Contemporary Crises in International Relations (3 credit hours)
For advanced political science majors, the capstone requirement can be fulfilled through this program with approval from the program leaders.
Eligibility
There are no course pre-requisites and students from all majors are eligible to participate.
Students must have a 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
Program Cost
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
The estimated program cost is $4,900 which includes housing (furnished apartments), all site visits listed on the itinerary, a group welcome dinner, a bicycle rental, international health insurance, and tuition.
Additional costs: airfare (including transportation to/from airport), meals not provided, passport, Visa, and personal spending money and activities.
Students have the opportunity to apply for College of Liberal Arts and program-specific scholarships via the program application.

To be competitive for limited spots and program-specific scholarships, apply by November 1, 2026. After this date, admissions will continue on a rolling basis as space allows. Students will be notified in early November.
