Overview
IES-Dublin

Modern Dublin is defining the new image of Ireland with its thriving economy, social programs, and art scene. Yet even in the midst of change, Dublin preserves its history, evident in its architecture and in its political, religious, and social institutions. Dublin plays many roles for Ireland, being the Republic's political capital, the home of past and present writers of international stature, and the center of the island's phenomenal economic growth.

There are two summer options to choose from through IES-Dublin:

  1. Irish Studies
  2. Intensive Acting

Eligibility

IES-Dublin

The program is open to Purdue students who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity and a desire to experience another culture. 

For the intensive acting program: Applicants must major or minor in Theater Arts/Drama or have theater experience.

GPA Requirement: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Language Requirement: none

Purdue Credit

If students complete courses while abroad from Purdue colleges that have not approved the program, they might be able to earn transfer credit for those courses. Students interested in pursuing transfer credit should discuss this with both their academic advisor and their study abroad advisor before applying to the program.

Academic Program
IES offers a wide variety of classes. Please see its website for course descriptions, prerequisites, and syllabi. All students take a minimum of 6 credits.

Program Fee includes tuition and on-site orientation.
