Overview

Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Hong Kong Polytechnic University has a proud and illustrious history. Formerly known as Hong Kong Polytechnic, the institution assumed full university status in 1994. PolyU is strategically located in Hung Hom, Kowloon, on a site of approximately 93,500 square metres and adjacent to the Cross Harbour Tunnel, and has an enrollment of approximately 22,000 students.

Hong Kong is on the southeast coast of China, at the mouth of the Pearl River. English is widely spoken among the citizens since it was a British colony until 1997, but it has always been Chinese at its heart. The best part about spending a semester in Hong Kong is that students can live quite reasonably in one of the world's most exciting, vibrant, colorful cities!  Students can study in one of Asia's top universities, try one of Hong Kong's many superb restaurants, enjoy the city's vibrant night life, go shopping in its numerous shopping districts, travel to neighboring cities, or take advantage of Hong Kong's top tourist destinations for no more than what they would spend in West Lafayette.
