SLU's main campus is located at Uppsala (just outside Stockholm). The University, which has 3,300 students, is organized into 50 departments responsible for research, teaching, and extension in the areas of agriculture, forestry, food science, veterinary medicine, engineering, horticulture, and aquaculture. Uppsala, with a population of 160,000 is the fourth largest town in Sweden, has the charm of a small town as well as the opportunities of a big city.

Located 50 miles north of Stockholm, Uppsala was once the royal seat of the Swedish kingdom. In addition to its Cathedral, which has been the seat of the Archbishop of the Church of Sweden since 1273, Uppsala is also the site of a 16th Century Renaissance castle which began as the royal castle and is now the residence of the county governor. Sweden is located between the Baltic and North Seas and is the fourth largest country in Europe. Nearly 100,000 lakes are connected through waterways, and many large rivers flow from the northwestern mountains through the forest to the sea. Due to the warm Gulf Stream in the Atlantic, Sweden has a rather mild climate considering its location.

You will study in Sweden during Purdue's spring or fall semester and you may select from any course taught at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

Courses are taught in English.
