Program Description |
Jamaica is the location for the Agricultural Education Maymester study abroad experience. The course is headquartered at the College of Agricultural Sciences and Education (CASE) located in the Portland Parish in Northeast Jamaica. As Jamaica’s only higher education institution offering programming in agriculture, CASE developed an Agricultural Education program in 1999. |

Students earn six credits of education coursework in EDCI 20500 Exploring Teaching as a Career and EDCI 28500 Multiculturalism in Education |

Agricultural Education students and those interested in Agricultural Education are eligible. |
Program Cost |
Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss.
Estimated maximum cost $4,600 which includes all course fees and travel expenses. Cost should be significantly lower due to scholarships and grants. Estimated cost for full-time Purdue degree-seeking students is $2,500. This cost includes: $3,400 (program fee, study abroad fee, insurance) $ 100 (textbooks, course packets) $ 200 (meals on own such as in-transit and breakfasts) $ 825 (airfare). You are responsible for your own transportation to/from Indianapolis Airport. If it is better to fly out of Chicago, we will build the bus cost into the course fees. Does not include the cost of obtaining a U.S. passport (approximately $135). In 2014, Purdue University implemented a scholarship program for study abroad. Full-time Purdue University students in the Block I in Jamaica Study Abroad are eligible IF they submit a FAFSA. |
