The Technical University Braunschweig is Germany's oldest institute of technology with a long-standing tradition of providing an outstanding education to students passionate about the physical, natural and social sciences.

Eligibility

Technical University Braunschweig

The program is open to Purdue students in good standing who have completed at least two semesters of university study by the start of the program. Successful candidates will demonstrate academic success, maturity, and a desire to experience another culture.

GPA Requirement: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Language Requirement: 4 Sem German

Academic Program

Language of Instruction: German & English

Semester Course Load: 24 ECTS (12 Purdue credit hours) 

Participants in this exchange will be able to create a program made of up of project work, research, internship and course work.  However, the plans for the academic program must be carefully worked out before departure with the Purdue advisor, the departmental study abroad liaison, the study abroad office and representatives of the TU Braunschweig.  Ask your study abroad advisor for further details about this aspect of this program.



Housing

The International Office of the Technical University of Braunschweig will assist program participants to find a room in one of the residence halls. All halls are within walking distance or a short street-car ride of the campus.

Students pursuing program participation accept financial responsibility. Purdue will take measures to mitigate financial risks, although will not be liable for loss. 

Students should carefully note what costs need to be paid to Purdue University or to a co-sponsor or agency, and what costs need to be paid at the overseas study location.  This will vary by program.

Along with the costs outlined below, students participating on exchange programs in Germany should expect to pay a semester contribution toward subsidized services at their host university.  These fees range from approximately €75 to €350 per semester and typically include a pass for regional public transportation.  See your study abroad advisor for more details.
