Program Description
Examine Bram Stoker's Dracula while learning about the historical figure of Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes) and how contemporary Romanians regard Vlad. Also become familiar with how the country deals with its various vampire legends and with the fictional depictions of their country. Visit such stunning sites as Sighisoara, Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle) and the Carpathian Mountains. Participating in village cultural celebrations while also learning about modern Romania rounds out this unforgettable experience. Included in the program cost: 2 meals per day (3-course dinner each day!), all program excursions and, hotel accommodations, transfers to hotel from Bucharest airport and from hotel to airport for return, 3 credit hours of HONR 299. Not included: round-trip airfare (listed for as low as $526 on Oct 1)
