Academic Credit

This program will give you 3.0 hours of academic credit.

All students at Purdue University are eligible.  The program will be most applicable to those students interested in the study of movement and athletic medicine/rehabilitation.

Program Cost

The total cost for the program is: $3,587.08.  This includes nearly all expenses.

Not included in the fee -

  • Transportation to/from Chicago.  The flights will originate and return at OHare airport.  Students in the past have flown to OHare from home or taken a local shuttle from the Purdue campus.  The local shuttle costs approximately $100-120 round trip from West Lafayette.  Please consult with the program leader on options.
  • A total of 4-5 meals while in China.  All meals in Beijing are included in the program fee, as are breakfast and most lunches while in Hangzhou and Shanghai.  Students will need to have approximately $15-20 per meal for 4-5 meals while in these two cities.
  • Spending money on comfort items like sodas, ice cream, etc.  Prices are very reasonable in Beijing and most students will have sufficient funds if they plan for $100-300 dollars.  Of course this depends on how immersive you want to get.
  • Extras - we will visit the markets and a lot of the sites have gifts to bring home for friends and family.  You can spend very little on this or you can spend quite a all depends on what you want to purchase.  Just remember that you need to be able to get everything you purchase packed into your luggage to get home!
