Overview

University of Magdeburg

Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg was established in 1993 by the unification of three universities located in the city.  Currently the university offers degrees in nine faculties and student enrollment is approximately 13,000.

Purdue students who have a working knowledge of German (completed at least 4 semesters of college-level German) will have a much easier time adjusting to university life in Magdeburg than students who have less or even no experience with the language.  However, those with no German are not prohibited from participating in the program.  It's advisable to make an appointment with a study abroad advisor before applying to this program.
